What To Expect

We are here for you

Whether it has been one year or ten years since your last visit, we understand that coming to the dentist can be daunting. We hope that by knowing what to expect, you will feel more confident and prepared for your visit.

We are happy to arrange the iSign service for members of the Deaf community.

Before consultation

Before we meet you in person, you will be asked to fill out a medical and dental history form. You can choose to either receive this by email or come to the practice 15 minutes before your appointment time to fill it out in our comfortable waiting room

We provide free parking to all our patients. If you require wheelchair access or an NZSL interpreter please inform us prior to your appointment.

You are welcome to bring a support person, friends or whanau to your appointment.

During consultation

We start our consultation with a face to face conversation. We want to understand what you would like to get out of the appointment and what your oral health goals are.

Once we know a bit more about you, we then begin our thorough oral health evaluation. This will involve a comprehensive examination of the teeth, gums and oral mucosa (the skin of the mouth) We use digital x-rays and often photographs to aid diagnosis and treatment planning.

While you are in the chair, you have the option of wearing headphones, watching a movie on our ceiling screen or listening to music.

Once we have gathered the information we need, we will spend some time discussing our findings with you. From this point, we can start formulating a treatment plan with you. For more complex treatment plans, a second visit may be required.

Building your treatment plan takes into consideration your dental treatment goals and your oral health needs, blended with a timeline and your budget.

After consultation

You will be sent a copy of your treatment plan to consider at home.

It is common for patients to forget the details of what has been discussed during the appointment. We are happy to email notes and post operative instructions to you.

When you are ready, you can start booking treatment appointments either with our friendly reception staff or online.

If you feel anxious during treatment and wish to have extra time built into your appointment, please request a call from us when you book online to arrange this.

We look forward to welcoming you.
