About Us

K. McNulty, Johnsonville

I have always had good service at Paremata Dental. I have seen Clare for my Invisalign and am very happy with the result.  The team are always friendly and they've always managed to fit me in for emergency appointments.

A. Hadfield PHD, Aeotea

Thanks Paremata Dental. I have been very pleased with the dental service I have received over the last year. It has been professional, empathetic and thorough. These elements are important as I age.  My teeth are fragile, and aging has compounded the need for me to be confident in my dentist.  I can unreservedly say that Paremata Dental has provided the best service I have ever had.

Anthea Armstrong, Wellington

Acute general anxiety disorder gave me a phobia of dentists, leading to panic attacks so severe that full sedation was required for even minor dental work. This meant that my teeth were a mess – small issues became big problems, resulting in infections, abscesses, and multiple extractions.

When I first sat in Claire’s chair I knew things were going to be different: she was endlessly patient with me, talked me through procedures and made me feel comfortable. Her patience, calming approach - using breathing and meditation techniques - and helping me feel in control of the situation enabled me to remedy my dental issues, minimise my need for sedation, and even progress to proactive and cosmetic work.

Thanks to Clare I have a beautiful, healthy smile, and no fear of future work. I will ONLY see her and would highly recommend Claire to anyone – especially those who are nervous of dental work.

Lee Harrison, Wellington

"I have a very international mouth, preferring to travel overseas to have extensive dental work done, due to costs in NZ.

I came upon Clare by chance, and so pleased I did.  Clare did a thorough treatment plan of deep cleaning, fillings and she recommended a more affordable option than traditional crowns.  Because of this saving, I was able to afford to have a veneer on my front tooth with the colour finally matching my smile.

Clare made me feel very relaxed and the treatment was completely pain free.  Her aftercare service has been excellent.  I highly recommend Clare and I look forward to visiting her new practice."

Jess Bennett, Wellington

"I have had the good fortune of having Clare as my dentist in Wellington. Together we have gone through a dentistry journey from extracting my wisdom teeth to general maintenance to the Invisalign process.

I have since moved from Wellington but kept Clare as my dentist as she is caring, professional and has my best interests at heart."

Emily Dentice, Wellington

"Clare is such a lovely and caring person that always puts me at ease when I’m in her chair. I hadn’t been to see a dentist at all in many years but I was very lucky to be recommended to Clare and now I see her regularly.

She’s taken such amazing care of me over the last few years and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dental health."

I first understood the value of a good dentist at a young age, after several accidents in my childhood resulted in broken teeth. The calm, gentle voice of my dentist, combined with the well mastered movements of his dental instruments, led me to trust him. This positive relationship made it straightforward to fix my teeth.

I have now been a dentist myself for almost two decades. I graduated from Dundee University in 2002, and completed a Postgraduate Diploma with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow three years later. I am experienced in providing a range of dental services, staying at the forefront of modern techniques and technologies through ongoing training. My practice has a strong focus on tooth structure conservation and I particularly enjoy using modern composite bonding techniques to restore teeth.

I joined Paremata Dental in January 2021. Prior to this I worked in private practice in Wellington since moving here in 2008. I have often worked with communities who face difficult circumstances. Working for Scotland’s NHS, as well as Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHBs, involved treating patients in hospitals, mental health facilities, and prison settings. These experiences have refined my abilities to work gently and patiently with people to overcome their anxieties.

As my patient, you can always expect me to listen closely to your needs. My patient-centric approach focuses on enabling you to understand your oral health needs and finding a treatment plan that feels right for you.

I look forward to meeting some new and existing patients at Paremata Dental Surgery, and growing long lasting relationships with the local community.
